The AVM Ovation CS 8.3 Black Edition Streaming CD Receiver is a comprehensive audio solution that offers impressive power and a wide range of features. One of the standout features of this receiver is the X-STREAM Engine®, which enables HiRes streaming, including DSD. The device is easily controllable using the RC X APP, making it user-friendly and convenient. It also provides versatile connectivity options, such as USB A for external hard drives with NTFS and FAT support, as well as a 1 XLR line input that can be switched as a Home theatre Thruput.

The digital signal conversion is top-notch with the Double-Quad DAC, supporting up to 384/32 PCM and/or DSD 128 (ESS SABRE 9038 Reference DAC). Users can fine-tune their audio experience with tone control and parametric loudness, which can also be controlled via the RC X APP. Additionally, the receiver offers numerous menu functions, adjustable input sensitivity, and individual input naming for added customization.

In terms of power efficiency, the AVM Ovation CS 8.3 boasts minimal stand-by power consumption and an auto power down (APD) feature. The AVM Ovation CS 8.3 ensures a reliable network connection with both WLAN and LAN options. It offers two variable outputs (balanced and unbalanced) to suit various audio setups. The device boasts comprehensive digital inputs, including 1 x USB (asynchronously galvanically isolated, supporting DSD128/384 kHz), 1 x S/PDIF coaxial, 2 x S/PDIF optical, and 1 x AES/EBU. It also provides two digital outputs (S/PDIF coaxial & S/PDIF optical) for added versatility. Users can further fine-tune their audio experience with the adjustable upsampling rate, which can be set from 44.1kHz/16bit to 192kHz/24bit. The receiver also offers two switchable digital filters (smooth/sharp) for customizing the audio output. It features low-diffusion power supplies that are separate for the CD-drive and audio electronics, ensuring optimal performance and audio quality. The device's large, blue illuminated graphic display is dimmable for user comfort. Lastly, the AVM Ovation CS 8.3 comes packaged in the AVM OVATION Flight Case for added protection during transportation.
